In My Own Time

In My Own Time follows the emotional stories of people across Canada who chose to end their suffering through medical assistance in dying (MAID). Navigating this decision leads to life-affirming realizations with family and friends. Internationally recognized medical and legal experts explain why access to MAID is worth protecting.

First-hand accounts provide perspectives not commonly seen in media reports, and offer a window into the healthcare system as it navigates end of life care seven years into the legalization of Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) in Canada.

Across Canada, over 4,600 people have already seen the film at premieres from coast to coast, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. This film provides an opportunity to hear first-hand accounts and perspectives that are missing from public debate. It follows the emotional stories of Erin Milligan, Brian Oliveira, and Audrey Parker, three Canadians who chose to end their suffering through medical assistance in dying (MAID). These stories are woven together with commentary from internationally recognized medical and legal experts, who explain why access to MAID is worth protecting.
